How Does One Listen to a Podcast?

Dear Angie,

I love that you are expanding your ministry into this thing called “podcast,” but I don’t even know what that is. Should I bother learning? Good luck with your pods!

Sincerely,

A Reader (not a listener)

Dear Reader,

Yes! You should bother!

A PODCAST is an audio (or video) program you can download off the internet and listen to at your leisure. Think of it like a radio show, but available whenever you want it.

You don’t have to worry about a bunch of technical stuff because accessing it is really easy.

There are a couple of ways, and I’m only going to talk about the easy ones. I’ll link to more information.

I. If you have a smartphone, it may have come with an app specifically for podcasts.

A. If it’s an iphone, there is an app on there that is purple and says Podcasts. You have been ignoring it and that’s fine. You will ignore no longer.

  1. Open the app and a menu bar will appear at the bottom.
  2. Push the search icon, and type-in She Finds Truth.
  3. Click on the She Finds Truth Podcast program.
  4. The next screen presents that particular program. Click on the SUBSCRIBE button.
  5. Now whenever you want to listen, the show will already have been delivered to you in this place. You will open your Podcast App, and go to My Podcasts in the menu bar at the bottom. The newest show will be waiting for you in the My Podcasts section.
  6. Get a pair of headphones. Listen while you wash dishes, drive to work, nurse the baby, brush your teeth, or do your cardio. There will be a new show once a week and I’m aiming for them to be around 30 minutes long. And if you are interrupted, the app will remember where you are and the next time you start it again, it will pick up where you left off.

B. If you have an android phone, it might not have come with an app for listening.

  1. Download one from the app store. I use and love one called PlayerFm.
  2. Once you get the app, do a search for ‘She Finds Truth.’
  3. When you find it, it should be a matter of clicking on it and then SUBSCRIBE.
  4. Now that you have subscribed, whenever you want to listen, the show will be in your app waiting for you.

C. If you enjoy this experience, you can play around more with your new-found app and see what else you can find. Some of the apps will recommend other shows based on your interests, or you can search the “most popular” or “newest”. There are some great podcast apps and some great shows. Pretty much any topic you want.

II. If you would rather listen at your laptop or computer, just go to www.SheFindsTruth.com and click on the PODCAST tag on the menu below the header. Blogs containing podcast episodes will appear. Pick one and click on the LISTEN button. Put your headphones in and enjoy. In case you didn’t see it above.. There will be a new show once a week and I’m aiming for them to be around 30 minutes long.

Thanks for inquiring about my podcast! Let me know if you enjoyed it and or if you have any suggestions. I’m an open target. No, I mean, I’m open to feedback. Yeah, that’s what I meant.

Happy listening!

Sincerely,

Angie

P.S. No one calls them “pods.” But if you want to, go for it. 😉
